Unmesh was introduced to sailing by a friend and became a member of the CSC soon after. He used to sail but not regularly. He had heard about from someone that Sheri has a workshop near Mandwa where he builds boats. When we were visiting our home near Alibaug, he made it a point to search for him and talked to him about building his own yacht.

Although Sheri did tell us that just building a boat isn’t enough if you weren’t gonna use it.  Therefore, Unmesh started learning how to sail properly.

‘Stargazer’ that Sheri built for us is a DD40 design and a beauty. Unmesh and Sheri had various meetings to decide the design, the size of the yacht, the materials to be used, the product finish etc. to bring it upto international standards. The equipments used like winches, the mast, the sail, GPS etc. are of top quality international brands.

The building experience was also extremely enjoyable as we saw the boat being built from scratch. At every stage we could visit and watch the work in progress. Sheri’s staff were also helpful and his workshop maintained quality and standards as well. 

We launched Stargazer 2 years back and she sails like a dream. She has a neutral helm, is well balanced and stays stable even at a 30 deg inclination. We have sailed her in various weather conditions and so far she has surpassed all our expectations. 

We hope to take her for a spin around the world soon!!
